My Story:

The third of match balls used in the first UEFA Europa League final held in the Romania but unlike the Finales used in the UEFA Champions League final, these balls do not have its own unique design other than having the team names.  The 2012 UEFA Europa League final was the final match of the 2011/2012 UEFA Europa League season contested between Atletico Madrid and Athletic Bilbao, both of Spain at the Arena Națională in Bucharest, which was won 3-0 by Atletico Madrid in normal regulation time.

The technology of the ball is of the Adidas Tango 12 in terms of the panels but if you look closer, it has the Grip ‘N’ Groove feel that is similar to the Adidas Finale 2012 UEFA Champions League and Adidas Finale Munich 2012 UEFA Champions League match balls.  This is probably evident by the different FIFA Approved code which is 202.A1B instead of the 202.A1D/202.A1E associated with the Tango 12 range.

The Official Story:

You won’t typically see one for a finals match ball so you can take the regular 2011 Europa League match ball one as the exact representation.

Technical Story:

Made in Pakistan.

FIFA Approved Code: 202.A1B

    Hi there,

I have one signed by Miodrag Belodedici, who was kicking-off the 2012 Europa League Final hel in Bucharest and was the first player to win the European Champions Cup with two different clubs Steaua Bucharest (1986 vs FC Barcelona) and Red Star Belgrade (1991 vs Olympique de Marseille).

    Anybody interested?
