My Story:

The Finale Munich is the first time that the ball to be used in the finals is used from the knock-out stages onwards…well almost.  Because if you do look closely at this ball, it is actually more unique than you think.  Other than having the name of the teams, the pattern and wordings in the panels are actually gold instead of silver.  Other than these, the ball is exactly the same as the general retail version.

The 2012 UEFA Champions League final was the final match of the 2011/2012 UEFA Champions League season contested between Bayern Munich of Germany and Chelsea of England at the Allianz Arena in Munich, which was won 4-3 by Chelsea on penalties after the score was drawn 1-1 in normal regulation time.

This ball has the FC Bayern Munchen vs Chelsea FC inscription and is probably one of the actual match balls used at the 2012 UEFA Champions League Finals held in Munich.

The Official Story:

Since this is the actual ball used in the finals and has the name of the teams, it is not available in general retail and hence you can rely on the generic one instead.
