My Story:

The Finale Munich is the first time that the ball to be used in the finals is used from the knock-out stages onwards…well to be more exact, the ball that looks like the one to be used in the finals.  Because if you do look closely at this ball the pattern and wordings in the panels are actually silver instead of the gold on the ball used in the finals, and of course also missing the names of the team involved in the finals.

The ball has the name and location of the finals since 1993 in Munich written in silver on the white non-star panels, culminating in the 2012 in Munich wordings on the panel where the official Munich 2o12 Final logo is.

The technology of this Adidas Finale Munich 2012 UEFA Champions League incorporates the new Grip ‘N’ Groove surface that is similar to the Adidas Europa League 2012 UEFA Europa League match ball and hence is of an upgrade from the star panel balls of 2011 which has the PSC feel instead.

The Official Story:

The iconic Champions League star motif stands out beautifully with this White/Slime/Cyan/Indigo colourway unique design elements.

In a change from previous season the new Finale Munich ball will be used throughout the knock-out stage and not just on just on the 19th May 2012 at the Allianz Arena.

Star shaped panels are joined by revolutionary thermal bonding technology for perfect aerodynamics. Removing the need for seams and stitching benefits the ball prolonging the life and giving it a more predictable trajectory, better touch and lower water uptake.

A PSC texture surface which is an advancement from the ‘pimple’ design allows for better power, swerve and control. This grip texture grants enhanced friction between ball and boot for better friction between ball and foot.

This adidas Finale Munich 12 ball has received the highest FIFA rating for weight, water uptake, shape and size retention.

70% polyurethane / 30% leather (imitation).
