My Story:

This is the Mitre Revolve club issued version used by Preston North End in the 2008/2009 English Football League Championship season. The Football League logo carries the ‘Coca Cola Championship’ wordings.

According to Wikipedia: Preston North End Football Club is an English professional football club located in the Deepdale area of the city of Preston, Lancashire. Originally founded as a cricket club in 1863, the institution adopted rugby union code in 1877. One year later Preston North played its first game under the rules of association football.

Preston was a founding member of the English Football League in 1888 and the first league champions, achieving the English football “Double” in the same season by winning the FA Cup without conceding a goal. Preston completed the 1888–89 season unbeaten in both the League and Cup, a feat that has not been equalled, and which earned the team the nickname “The Invincibles”.

Preston’s most recent major trophy win was an FA Cup victory over Huddersfield Town F.C. in 1938.

Many important players have played for PNE over the years, including such greats as Adam Austin, Bill Shankly, Tom Finney, and David Beckham as well as notable players such as Jon Macken, David Healy, Richard Cresswell, David Nugent, Ricardo Fuller, and Graham Alexander.

Based on all the results during its 112 seasons in the Football League from 1888–89 to 2010–11, Preston is ranked as the fourth most-successful English football club of all time domestically, while only Notts County has played more Football League games than Preston.

The Official Story:

I have not seen one yet since this is a club issued ball.  The story for the generic Mitre Revolve should be good enough.
