My Story:

The third of match balls used in the UEFA Cup final that has its own design and the last one made by Nike for this event before Adidas dominated this with the change of the name/format to the Europa League.  The 2009 UEFA Cup final was the final match of the 2008/2009 UEFA Cup season contested between Shaktar Donetsk of Ukraine and Werder Bremen of Germany at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium, home of Fernerbache in Istanbul, Turkey, which was won 2-1 by Shaktar Donetsk after extra time.

The design of this ball is similar to 2008 design except that the colors seem darker and it has Istanbul 2009 in one of the panels.  Another point of note is the upgrade to the Total 90 Omni technology instead of the previous Total 90 Mercurial Veloci technology.

The Official Story:

The Nike UEFA Cup Conquest Official Match Ball has a traditional 32-panel design for true and accurate ball flight and a machine-stitched casing that provides consistent play on the field.
