Adidas Super Cup 2012 UEFA Super Cup
This is one of the match balls used in the finals held in Monaco 2012 between Chelsea FC (2011/2012 UEFA Champions League winners) of England and Atletico Madrid (2011/2012 UEFA Europa League Winners) of Portugal. The match was won 1-4 by Atletico Madrid in normal regulation time and is their second Super Cup victory. This version of the Super Cup ball uses the Tango 12 technology that is used in the 2012 UEFA European Championships, while in the previous year the ball had the Grip ‘N’ Groove feel that is similar to the Adidas Europa League 2011 UEFA Europa League match ball. This was also seen in the change of the FIFA Approved code which is 202.A1E instead of 202.A1B. As usual these balls are not sold in shops but have been seen bandied around in eBay and is still as rare as you can get for the supposed king of European Cup competitions where the winner has not always belonged to the Champions League winners.
Made in Pakistan.
